Down The Road - Official Video
"Whiskey and the Women" EP
Friday, November 7
(95 Stanton St b/w Orchard & Ludlow)
Fun night last night recording background vocals for the new five song EP… The working title is "Whiskey and the Women" lets hope we can get it done for the next show!
We have an exciting show coming up. We will be headlining Arlene's Grocery on Friday, November 7th with two really cool all girl bands opening up. Jane Lee Hooker who we have seen before (they rock!) and The BlueBonnets from Austin, TX. Mark your calendars..
Amazing day today in the studio at Hoboken Recorders. With our new drummer Alan Camlet behind the board and the kit we laid down five brand new tracks not even using a click. The band was red hot going in and we decided to try and capture the sound live. I'd guess a few overdubs and this will be ready to get to you all this fall!
Great turnout last night for an early show. The staff at Mercury Lounge said it is by far the biggest early show that they had all summer. When we hit the stage early it also means that the after party starts early too! Great time hanging with you all at The Sixth Ward after the show. Special thanks also to Brett Kohart of Lead Foxes for coming out and singing the Acquiesce song "Starting Today" with us. That was a blast!
Not too late to get tickets to tonights show with East River Bandits and Lead Of Foxes at Mercury Lounge. Its going to be packed as always when we play the Merc!
What an amazing time yesterday at the Greenport Harbor Brewing Company's Five Year Anniversary Party. Thanks to Twenty12 the band for letting us use your board and speakers. We hope to get back out to see you all out there again soon. Thanks to those of you that bought CDs and TShirts as well!
As many of you noticed at our last show, Vinny Cimino is no longer with the band at this time on drums. He is still part of the East River Bandits family but at this time is focusing on his other projects and also being a daddy. We wish you luck Vinny!
Big show announcement! We will be playing at Mercury Lounge on Thursday, July 17th at 7pm sharp as part of a special early showcase with us and Lead Of Foxes. Tickets are available on the shows page.
Thanks for all of you that came down to the gig last night. Especially our Australian Fan club leader Brett Kennedy all the way from Melbourne. We debuted five new songs and hope to get into the studio before the end of the year to record them. In other news we are happy to announce that we will be playing at the Greenport Harbor Brewery Five Year Anniversary Party on the North Fork of Long Island. Check the shows page for details.
We are there folks. The tunes are ready to be unleashed. We just booked a last minute show at our home base The 11th St. Bar for Wednesday, June 18th with our friend Seth Adam opening the show. We've got a big one to announce coming up too!
Amazing rehearsal last night. All the guys are fired up for whats coming up… New shows, new tunes, and new venues. Stay tuned for details!
Still no Bandits news but we wanted to let you know that Dan played Mandolin on the new record by Lead Of Foxes. The album comes out next week, check it out!
Happy St. Patricks Day everyone. Hang in there for us to add some new shows. Right now we've been holed up rehearsing and writing new songs. We'll see you in a few months.
Thanks to all of you that made it down to the show and packed the room. A lot of you were asking what the last song of the encore was, it was our little tribute to the Possum, George Jones. We did our own take on his song "White Lightning."
Happy Valentines Day folks. Just a few days till our headlining spot at Arlene's Grocery. See you there!
We are very excited to be playing an extra long headlining set at Arlene's Grocery on Wednesday, February 19th for our first show of 2014! We have the stage for as long as we want it to run through all of your favorites from "Down The Road", some new tunes, and a few covers as well. Mark your calendars now. Info on the shows page.
Thanks to the 227 of you that came down to Mercury Lounge! It was a packed house. A special thank you also goes out to Tyson for jumping up on stage with us for Robert Earle Keen's "Merry Christmas From The Family." We are going to take a bit to regroup and we'll see you next year!
Three gigs coming up for us this month! First off we will be playing acoustic for our First Wednesday of the Month residency at The 11th St. Bar this Wednesday at 9:30pm. This will be our last one for a while as we are giving up the residency for 2014 to get started on new material. Next up we will be playing a 5 song full band set at The Downtown Elves Holiday Charity Bash also at the 11th St. Bar this Sunday. It's a great cause so come down, donate, and see us and the other great bands on the lineup. Finally we make our triumphant return to the Mercury Lounge with our friends The Yule Dogs and Wormburner on Thursday, December 19th… Get your tickets now!
Thanks to all that came down last night especially John Jackson that came up and played guest mandolin on two songs. Good luck to Brett Conti Band on their new release.
We are back at the 11th St. Bar on Wednesday, November 6th for our residency show. Brett Conti Band will be playing before us at 9pm and then we follow at 10pm. Gonna be a great hang and maybe even a little musical cross pollination!
Now up on YouTube, here it is, the Official Music Video for "Down The Road". This song is the title track from East River Bandits' Kickstarter funded album. The days of MTV are long gone but through social media having a music video is still very important to a band in getting the word out. The extremely talented Chris Cassidy (www.casspix.com) helped us put this clip together and we are excited for you to get a glimpse into what the East River Bandits are all about. Please do us a favor and check it out, post it on whatever you post on, and help us spread the word.
Allright folks, we finally have a big announcement for you. We will be having our Video Release Party for our first single, "Down The Road", at Arlene's Grocery on Thursday, September 27th at 10pm. They will be screening the video on their projection screen before we hit the stage. We are so excited for you all to see it!
We hope you all had a great summer. We are excited to see all of our NYC fans that have been out partying at the beach. We hit the stage at 10pm sharp this Wednesday with Patrick Salt Ryan opening up the show for us.
We are very excited to be putting the finishing touches on our first music video! The video is being shot by Chris Cassidy (www.casspix.com) who has done videos for The Bogmen, Radio 4, Wormburner, Acquiesce, Vic Thrill, The Knockout Drops, and more. We will take a few weeks to edit it and hope to have a Video Release Party in the fall. More to come on that soon...
This weeks residency show will be an all acoustic set. Come on down and hang with the Bandits at Happy Hour beforehand. We have a brand new band opening up for us called "Lead Of Foxes" featuring Brett Kohart from Dan's other band, Acquiesce.
We are happy to add a last minute show next Monday opening up for Spider Man… Well not exactly but opening for Reeve Carney who plays Spider Man on Broadway. He is also famous for being in Taylor Swift's new music video. The gig is at Rockwood Music Hall - Stage 2. Doors for the show are at 6:30pm and we hit the stage at 7pm sharp. No cover for our part of the show!!! Info on the shows page...
Great hang at National Underground last Saturday. Especially to a few of you that came to see us before heading up to the Waylon Jennings Birthday Salute up at Rodeo Bar. Next show up is our "First Wednesday of the Month" gig at 11th St. Bar on the 3rd of July. Now we understand that a lot of our local fans will be out of town for the holiday weekend but those of you still in NYC will get a special treat as we have decided to do a stripped down "Acoustic Show". We have Patrick Salt Ryan opening the show at 9pm.
Happy June everyone! We have two shows coming up in the next two weeks. We hope to see you there. First up is our monthly residency show at 11th St. Bar where we will have Jeremy Winston and Martin Besa opening the show for us. We may even get some cross pollination going up on stage. After that we have a nice Saturday night show at the National Underground from 7pm till 9pm in which we will be warming up the crowd for Butch Phelps and the Buck Ups. Check the shows page for more info...

We are 94% of the way there!!! Who's going to be the person that puts us over the top and finalizes us getting our kickstarter goal?
Thanks to those of you that saw our set last night at the Downtown Elves Charity Bash. It was our pleasure to share the stage with Steve Earle and raise some money for a great cause. On another amazing note, we passed $10,000 today on our Kickstarter Campaign! We're almost there, keep on telling your friends! Finally, come down to our monthly residency gig this Wednesday at 11th St. Bar.
Come down to the 11th St. Bar tonight and help us raise money for the Downtown Elves Charity. Our set is scheduled for 8:30pm but there are tons of other amazing musical acts as well as great items for silent auction and drink specials. Hope to see you there!
Thank you to those of you that found the time during a very busy Thanksgiving Weekend to pledge to our Kickstarter Campaign. With a very small number of contributors we are already 36% of the way to our goal! For those of you that have not yet had the time please take this opportunity to check it out at your convenience. Every tiny little bit helps out a lot!
Another huge help to us is those of you that have reposted the link to your various social networking sites. We can't thank you all enough for your support. Please help us keep this thing going and support Independent Music!
We’ve been working hard for the last year writing original material for our debut record. We’ve put in the blood, sweat and tears but now we need your help. Recording an album independently gives us incredible artistic freedom but it means that the financing falls to us. We hope to give you a high-quality record before the end of the year. By visiting our Kickstarter site and contributing whatever you can you will be supporting our band and our dreams. Original voices in any form of art need to be encouraged, and we appreciate your help from the bottom of our hearts.
If you’ve ever had a record that meant the world to you, then you can understand how we feel about ours. Please help us make this dream come true by sharing this with any and all who love music, fun, and the way the two come together to make a better world.
Two announcements... 1) all proceeds from our show tonight will be donated to the "In Good Hands Hospitality Relief Fund" to help out the Rockaways and Breezy Point. 2) We are officially submitted to the South By Southwest Music Festival (fingers crossed!)
Just a reminder that we will be playing our first ever Festival Gig this Saturday, Oct 13th. We will be playing at 4pm at the Jersey City 4th Street Art and Music Festival as the fourth of eight bands. We look forward to seeing our Jersey friends out there and to our NYC fans it's super easy to get to from the PATH train. Great music, great artists, great comedians, great food and beer all day long!
Special thanks to our good friends at Horseshoe Bar! 7B for having us do a late night 'whiskey set' on our way home from rehearsal last night even though the bar was closed for a movie shoot! Hope to see you all at our show Wednesday night at 11th St. Bar.
